Texas and New Mexico Personal Injury Lawyer
Emma Roddy was born and raised in New Braunfels, Texas. After obtaining her BFA from Baylor University, she spent several years working in the theatre and nonprofit fundraising industries in Austin and New York. In the theatre world, Emma enjoyed bringing stories to life on stage. As a fundraiser, Emma found that by listening to people and telling their stories to people who could make a difference, she could effect change in her community. It was this passion for advocacy that led her to pursue a law career.
Emma entered Baylor Law School with this pursuit in mind—to learn how to use the law to tell a client’s story and change their life for the better. While at Baylor Law, Emma applied her love of storytelling to trial skills, participating in national moot court and mock trial competitions as well as Baylor’s grueling Practice Court program. She also found a love for legal writing and research and served as an editor for the Baylor Law Review for two years. Emma graduated from Baylor Law Cum Laude in July 2021.
Since joining the Sloan Firm, Emma has had the privilege to put this training to good use serving clients in Texas and New Mexico. She practices at the firm’s office in Santa Fe and has successfully represented clients in personal injury and wrongful death cases throughout New Mexico. Her primary practice areas are in trucking collisions, auto collisions, premises defects, and medical/professional negligence.
Emma is an active member of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, the Seth Oliver Inn of Court, the American Association for Justice, and the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys. She has also completed several courses through the Trial Lawyers’ College.
Although she grew up in Texas, Emma loved her frequent family vacations to Northern New Mexico as a child and has enjoyed putting down roots in the East Mountains with her wife, Kate, and their ever-growing menagerie of four-legged children. When not practicing law, Emma enjoys reading, exploring the restaurants and cultural offerings of Santa Fe and Albuquerque, and hiking in the mountains with Kate and their two dogs, Junie and Milo.
